RdSAP 10 Release Date Confirmed – What It Means for EPCs and Property Owners
RdSAP 10 release date confirmed! The way Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are carried out is about to change. Following a recent meeting between the Building Research Establishment (BRE), government representatives, and accreditation schemes, the proposed release date for RdSAP 10 has been confirmed as 15th June 2025 — subject to final approvals.
While this date is still dependent on all scheme providers completing testing and meeting software integration requirements, many in the industry, including Elmhurst, have expressed confidence that everything is on track.
What Is RdSAP 10?
RdSAP (Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure) is the methodology used to produce domestic EPCs in the UK. RdSAP 10 will be the most significant update to the system in over a decade, and it introduces a range of changes designed to improve the accuracy and usefulness of EPCs.
What’s Changing?
With RdSAP 10, assessors will be required to collect more detailed information about a property, which means EPCs will be more comprehensive than ever. Some of the key updates include:
-
Ventilation data will now be recorded during assessments.
-
Electric heating systems, including heat pumps, may see improved ratings due to changes in how energy use is calculated.
-
A broader and more detailed set of data points will be captured, resulting in more accurate and meaningful EPCs.
Watch out for our upcoming posts where we discuss each detail in depth.
What This Means for Property Owners
While these updates will make EPCs more useful, they will also mean assessments will take a little longer to complete. At Bluewire Hub Ltd, we are preparing for this by reviewing our processes and updating our data collection in line with the new requirements.
As a result of the increased data collection involved, we’ll be making a small adjustment to our pricing structure following the switch to RdSAP 10. This ensures we can continue to deliver accurate, high-quality assessments that reflect the latest industry standards.
What You Can Do Now
If you’re a landlord, homeowner, or letting agent planning to get an EPC in the near future, you may want to consider whether to:
-
Book your EPC before 15th June to have it assessed under the current methodology.
-
Or wait until RdSAP 10 is live for the updated approach — particularly if your property has electric heating or other features that could benefit from the new calculation method.
We’ll continue to update our clients as we get closer to the confirmed release date.
